Iris diaphragm

Like a gobo an Iris will fit into the gate of a profile spot. But like the iris in a camera it will open and close to give a different sized opening in the middle. This can be used to decrease the set size of the beam in a lantern, but is more often used as a variable beam in a follow spot. The sopt operator uses the iris handle to increase/decrease the diameter of the projected beam, depending on the action on stage.
